The City of St. John's offers a wide range of fitness opportunities for people who are looking to live a healthy, active lifestyle. Drop in and registered programs are offered by qualified instructors.

Course Name Description
Beginner Yoga Designed for new students of all fitness levels to learn a solid foundation of yoga practice.
Intermediate Yoga This class teaches you how to improve upon the postures learned in beginner yoga and learn additional challenging postures.  Beginner Yoga experience is required.
Mixed Yoga Beginners and intermediates together practice yoga fundamentals to increase strength, flexibility and endurance.
Power Yoga Power Yoga is a challenging and vigourous class that builds strength and flexibility through a series of inter-linking and challenging movements. This class is designed for participants with several years of intermediate yoga practice behind them.
Relaxation Yoga Relaxation Yoga is beginner friendly and incorporates mindfulness throughout the class. Poses are done slowly to illicit the relaxation response and increase body-mind awareness. 
Yin Yoga A quiet yoga practice that improves flexibility and circulation.  Yin Yoga is suitable for all levels and does not require previous yoga experience.
Shallow Water Fitness A low impact but high intensity water aerobics class, that is designed to improve cardiovascular endurance, flexibility and muscle tone.
Deep Water Fitness Held in the deep end of the pool, this no impact workout is designed to improve joint movement, muscular strength and endurance. Participants can use a floatation belt if required.
Adults in Motion This low impact class combines cardio and strength training for the older adult who is looking to meet new friends and others with common wellness goals.
Body Bars & Dumbbells A total conditioning class designed to challenge each participant’s major muscles groups using body bars and dumbbells.
Core Balance Strengthen the core and lower back using body and hand weights. A well-rounded workout for all levels.
Cardio Pump Use dumbbells, body bars, skipping ropes, balance balls, bands, steps and much more to deliver a challenging class for participants at all fitness levels. 
Latin Dance

The Latin Dance program fuses hypnotic Latin rhythms and easy to follow moves to create a one of a kind fitness program that will get you moving. This party like atmosphere is fun and energizing, come try it out for yourself.
