Raise the Bucket for Mental Health: October 16

St. John’s Regional Fire Department and IAFF Local 1075 are asking for your support for the 'Fighting Chance' fundraiser on Saturday, October 16.

The bucket truck will be parked outside Mile One Centre from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m. as public figures, including Mayor Danny Breen, community leaders and first responders volunteer to take shifts in the bucket to raise awareness and funds for mental health and addictions challenges for first responders and individuals within the communities they serve.

Support the fundraiser online at adollaraday.ca/raisethebucket.

Where the Funds Go
In addition to championing a worthwhile cause, a portion of funds raised through Fighting Chance will help support mental health and addictions care programs for first responders in our community including IAFF Peer Support Program.

Background
Dollar A Day Foundation created a program in partnership with St. John’s Regional Fire Department and IAFF Local 1075 called Fighting Chance.

Fighting Chance is designed to engage first responders in a meaningful way. As champions for mental health, the Foundation wants to help first responders support mental health and addictions in the communities they serve. They will also provide support for the internal Peer Support Program to ensure first responders have the resources and support they need to take care of their own.
