The City has received an application to rezone land at 255 Bay Bulls Road from the Commercial Neighbourhood (CN) Zone to the Commercial Mixed Use (CM) Zone to enable Place of Assembly Uses in a portion of the existing building. Place of Assembly is listed as a Discretionary Use in the CM Zone. A Municipal Plan Amendment is not required. Should the land be rezoned, uses within the CM Zone could be considered.

The City is considering a text amendment to the St. John’s Development Regulations, that would amend the standards to the Institutional Zone. This would enable the adaptive reuse of existing and former church properties that are located in the Institutional (INST) Zone.
