July 1 | Canada Day Festivities | Sunrise event followed by a family-fun event with entertainment and then fireworks at Quidi Vidi Lake. |
July | Party in the Park | A seniors' celebration in Bowring Park with entertainment and activities for those 50+. |

A free event showcasing the City's municipal buildings including Robin Hood Bay Recycling Facility, City Hall, Central Fire Station, Animal Care and Adoption Centre, City Archives and the Visitor Information Centre. |
October | Seniors Day | A free event held to celebrate the contributions that seniors make to our City |
November 1 | Pumpkin Walk | A magnificent Halloween themed event at Bannerman Park that includes a jack-o'-lantern display, music, pop-up performances, FREE hot chocolate, and maybe even some zombies! |
November 20 | National Child Day | A full week of celebrations including free events for families, youth and children at City facilities. |
November 21 | Young Voices in Business | Are you an 18–30-year-old interested in starting your own business? The City of St. John’s invites you to a free event focused on young business owners sharing their stories and experiences. |
December | Holiday Lights at Bowring Park | Kick off the holiday season with our official lighting of the Bowring Park Duck Pond; enjoy live holiday music and free hot chocolate. |
December 31 | New Year's Eve Celebration | Fireworks and entertainment in a family-friendly atmosphere; celebrations include free swims, a skating party and a countdown to the fireworks. |
The City's sponsorship framework allows us to maintain and/or enhance City programs, events, or services with revenue received from sponsorship, without additional cost to taxpayers. The framework provides clear direction to staff on responsibilities and how to assess requests for the City to enter into sponsorship agreements. It also ensures fairness, transparency, and accountability and makes sure that activities and agreements do not negatively affect the City’s image or are contrary to its interests.
