Racquetball, Handball & Squash

The City of St. John's has two courts located at the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre, 60 Blackler Ave, that are designed for racquetball, handball and squash. The squash, handball & racquetball area has wallet/phone sized lockers available and will be coin return operated (quarter coin).  

Availability: 50-minute court rentals are available 7 days a week 7 a.m. to 8 p.m.

Cost: $9 paid in advance (no refunds)

How to Book: Players can reserve a court a maximum of 7 days in advance at the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre front desk. Players can also set up an account at StJohns.ca/RECconnect to book and pay for court reservations.

Rules: Maximum of four players on a court at any one time. Players are required to bring their own equipment and must wear eye protection.

Pickleball

Indoors

Pickleball court rentals are available at the Kenmount Terrace Community Centre and the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre for one hour bookings. Time slots available:

• Kenmount Terrace Community Centre: Mondays & Wednesdays, 9 to 10 a.m., 10 to 11 a.m. or 11 a.m. to 12 p.m.
• H.G.R. Mews Community Centre: Tuesdays & Thursdays, 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m., 12:30 p.m. to 1:30 p.m. or 1:30 p.m. to 2:30 p.m.

Two courts are available at both locations. Courts are available to rent for $10 per court and must be booked 48 hours in advance. Book online at StJohns.ca/RECconnect, in person at the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre or Paul Reynolds Community Centre, or by calling 709-576-8499. A max of four individuals permitted per court.

Please note: Court bookings cannot be made in person at the Kenmount Terrace Community Centre.

Pickleball lines are painted on at least one court at all tennis court facilities listed below.
