Preschool & After School Care
The City offers after school and preschool programs for children. All recreation staff are trained in HIGH FIVE® Principles of Healthy Child Development, ensuring a consistent, child-centred approach in every program.
Preschool
The part-time preschool program focuses on socialization, early educational concepts, physical literacy with a focus on fundamentals, basic movement and skills taught through fun activities. Staff build on children's interests and abilities and offer age-appropriate activities and learning centres. Children must be 4 years old to attend.
Registration is the first Thursday in April for the fall session, and the first Thursday in December for the winter/spring session.

After School Program
The After School Program offers children a fun and safe place to be active. In our programs, children experience a wide range of opportunities through:
- community involvement
- physical activity
- cooperative and sport-based games
- creative learning activities
- building
- exploration
The program is offered at three facilities:
After School Programs run from September to June for Kindergarten to Grade 6. Registration opens on the first Thursday in April for the following school year. To register go to RECconnect. Learn more by reading our After School Care Information Package.
