Winter Activity Centre
During the winter, Pippy Park campground is transformed into groomed trails suitable for both classic cross-country and skate skiing, as well as snowshoeing. Trails are free to use and some may be lit for evening use. Operation is dependent on weather and snow conditions.
Winter Activity Centre Snowline: Once the Winter Activity Centre is open for the season, call the Winter Activity Centre Snowline at 709-737-3651 for information, updates and hours of operation based on trail conditions.
Accessibility
Accessible parking is available on site and an accessible entrance is located at the front of the building. A sit ski is available at the centre and other winter adaptive equipment may be reserved in advance through the Adaptive Equipment Loan Program. Cross-country Ski and Snowshoe Rentals
We offer classic cross-country skis and snowshoe equipment rentals at the Winter Activity Centre. Equipment is available to rent for all ages including cross-country skis, boots, snowshoes and poles. Weather and snow conditions will affect operations.
Users must fill out a waiver in-person or in advance.
Rental Hours of Operation
- Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday: 12 p.m. to 9 p.m.
- Saturday: 9 a.m. to 9 p.m.
- Sunday: 9 a.m. to 5 p.m.
- Last rental one hour prior to close
Equipment Rental Prices
- Individual person: $5 per hour
- Group of three people: $10 per hour
- Group of four to six people: $15 per hour
Payment is accepted by debit/credit only.
Drop-in Ski Lessons
- Learn the basics of classic cross-country skiing in a group lesson.
