St. John's is a collection of distinct neighbourhoods. Each neighbourhood is defined by its history, landscape and unique cultural heritage. Together, neighbourhoods create the character of our city.

Our city is growing and becoming more diverse. Smaller communities, local cultural areas and neighbourhoods are the core building blocks for a city. Our goal is to help make St. John's more livable with a wide range of amenities, programs and services.

Neighbourhood Plans

A Neighbourhood Plan takes the broad goals of the City’s Municipal Plan and brings them to life at the community level. These plans provide a detailed roadmap for how a specific area can grow and change in ways that reflect the needs of the people who live, work, and spend time there.

Neighbourhood Connect events bring neighbours together! This initiative is centred on building community, sharing helpful information, and making meaningful connections. Whether you're looking to meet new people or learn about local resources, Neighbourhood Connect is a great way to get involved and help create healthier, more connected neighbourhoods.

Neighbourhood Watch

Neighbourhood Watch is a community-based program that helps prevent crime by reducing opportunities for it to occur. By working together, staying alert, and looking out for one another, residents can help create safer communities. The program is simple and safe—there’s no need to patrol or take on police responsibilities. It’s about noticing unusual activity and reporting it to police.
