University Avenue between Paton Street and Prince Philip Drive has been reopened to traffic. However, traffic is reduced to one lane, temporary diverted around the construction area and restricted to passenger vehicles only, including buses. Dump trucks and other large construction vehicles/equipment are not permitted to use the traffic diversion.

The Rotary Sunshine Park beach access mat has been removed for the season.
The beach access mat was installed earlier this summer thanks to a generous donation from the Rotary Club of St. John’s. It provides a stable, non-slip surface over the sand, making the beach area more accessible to individuals using wheelchairs, walkers or strollers.
The beach access mat will be installed annually at Rotary Sunshine Park from approximately June to September.

The City has received an application to rezone land at 242 Danny Drive from the Industrial General (IG) Zone to the Industrial Commercial (IC) Zone for a Commercial Garage and Showroom (Retail Use). Commercial Garage is a Permitted Use in the IC Zone, and Retail Use is a Discretionary Use. A Municipal Plan amendment is not required.
