Motorists are advised that Springdale Street, between Water Street and George Street West, will be closed from May 15 to 19 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to facilitate the ongoing construction of the JAG Hotel. A traffic detour will be in place.

Text Amendment – Heritage Use Definition and Conditions

Description
The City is considering a text amendment to the St. John’s Development Regulations, that would clarify the definition of a Heritage Use and add conditions for building extensions to designated Heritage Buildings. Details of the proposed changes can be found on the Engage St. John’s Project Page.

DescriptionThe proposed application is a Home Occupation for Spray Tanning. Hours of operation will vary between 10 a.m. – 8 p.m. seven days a week. One client can be accommodated per hour with a buffer time between clients. The owner is the sole employee and the floor area of the occupation will be approximately 8.8m2. Lane Reduction - Carrick Drive

Motorists are advised that Carrick Drive near the roundabout will be reduced to one lane in one direction entering from Newfoundland Drive on Friday, May 12 from 9 a.m. to noon. This is to facilitate roadwork. The sidewalk near the roundabout will also be closed to pedestrian traffic. Motorists are advised that Circular Road (between Carpasian Road and Belvedere Street) will be closed on Wednesday, May 10, 2023 from 7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m., to facilitate construction deliveries to Molson Brewery. A detour will be in place and flagpersons will be on site.
