
The Office of the City Clerk is seeking expressions of interest from individuals and organizations who support the following demographics and sectors to join the newly established St. John's Local Immigration Partnership:
Six representatives will play a vital role in ensuring that diverse perspectives inform the Council’s strategic direction and contribute meaningfully to newcomer settlement and integration efforts in our region.
The St. John's Local Immigration Partnership (SJLIP) is a community-based initiative supported by Immigration, Refugees and Citizenship Canada (IRCC). Its mandate is to strengthen partnerships and collaboration across sectors to improve settlement and integration outcomes for newcomers. To advance this work, the Partnership Council will act as an advisory body, providing guidance on strategic priorities, ensuring diverse perspectives are represented, and helping align local efforts with broader regional and national strategies.
Partnership Council member roles, responsibilities, and length of term are set according to the Committee’s Terms of Reference.
