Please be advised that the fire ban for the St. John’s Regional Fire Department Region including St. John’s, Mount Pearl, and Paradise has been lifted with immediate effect. Open fires are now allowed. Please contact your local municipality to verify if a burning permit is required.

Please be advised that the fire ban currently in effect for the St. John’s Regional Fire Department Region including St. John’s, Mount Pearl, and Paradise has been extended to Monday, June 9, and will be re-evaluated at that time. The ban includes backyard firepits, chimineas, charcoal BBQs, and open fires. Propane firepits and BBQs are permitted.
SJRFD are asking people to be fire safe when using propane firepits and barbeques, to keep a hose or fire extinguisher handy and follow manufacturers...

Contractors may be working on the following streets from June 9 to 14 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. The parking lot next to the Mundy Pond Softball Field, off Blackler Avenue near the new Mews Community Centre, will be closed on Friday, June 6, from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m. to accommodate a training exercise.
Please ensure all vehicles are removed before 8 a.m.
