Street Rehab - September 9 to 14

Contractors may be working on the following streets from September 9 to 14 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

Planned Water Shut Off on Elizabeth Ave Cancelled

Please be advised that the planned watermain maintenance and related water shut off scheduled for Saturday, September 7 2024, from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m. on Elizabeth Ave (Anderson Ave To Gambier St) has been cancelled.
The City of St. John's will notify residents of a new date for the work once it becomes available.

Cruise Ship Volendam arrives September 6

The Volendam with 1839 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 12 p.m. on Friday, September 6, and depart at 10 p.m.

A Discretionary Use application has been submitted for 415 Fowlers Road.
DescriptionAn application has been submitted for Heavy Equipment Storage and Vehicle Storage Yard. The proposed Use includes a new storage building with an area of approximately 335m2, along with two new outdoor, open storage areas in the rear yard and the existing Accessory Building.

Traffic Advisory - Elizabeth Avenue

Please be advised of a change in location of a road closure impacting Elizabeth Avenue. Elizabeth Ave from Paton Street to Whiteway Street has reopened to traffic, while the road remains closed from Paton Street to Freshwater Road. A detour will be in place, redirecting traffic through Howlett Avenue and Anderson Avenue. Flag persons will be on site to direct traffic. This detour is expected to remain until November 2024.
Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout the construction period....
