Zuiderdam cruise ship originally scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, and depart at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, has been cancelled due to weather.

The Zuiderdam with 2388 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, and depart at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20.

The Evacuation Preparedness Alert for the Paddy’s Pond Industrial, Galway and Southlands areas has been lifted effective immediately. The alert in neighbouring communities in Paradise and CBS has also been lifted.
Please note that the southern portion of Fowler's Road will remain closed to traffic as work continues in that area. Local traffic will be permitted.
The City of St. John’s will continue to post all relevant information to its Emergency Alerts Page at StJohns.ca/Alerts.

Please be advised that the southern portion of Fowler’s Road is closed today as ground crews continue suppression efforts on the Paddy’s Pond fire.
We will update the public once the road has reopened.
Local traffic will be permitted.

Please be advised that the Evacuation Order for Paddy’s Pond Industrial Area, including Akita Equipment and surrounding buildings, hangers, Cochrane Pond Family Campground, Country Ribbon Chicken Farm, Sod Farm and the Forestry Depot, has been lifted effective immediately. Northern Pond Road, the southern portion of Fowlers Road and Paddy’s Pond Road have also reopened. The area remains subject to an evacuation alert.
