Motorists are advised that Duckworth Street from King’s Road to Holloway Street will be reduced to one lane to facilitate the ongoing construction project adjacent to the National War Memorial. Signage will be in place and traffic lights and/or flag persons will be on site. Motorists may experience delays as a result.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times for businesses in the area and business owners are encouraged to speak to the project...

Motorists are advised that Springdale Street, from Water Street to George Street West, will be closed from November 27 to December 1 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to facilitate the ongoing construction of the JAG Hotel. A traffic detour will be in place.

This holiday season consider giving the gift of play to a child in need by donating to the REAL Program.
The REAL Program is a nonprofit program that provides recreation and leisure opportunities to children and youth in financial need by matching them with an organized recreational activity of their choice. It costs approximately $200 to provide a program or class space for one young person.

The 2025 Canada Games Host Society is inviting students in grades 4-6 in Newfoundland and Labrador to design the official mascot of the 2025 Canada Games.
Youth are asked to create a mascot that’s either an object, animal, or character that reflects the identity, culture, and heritage of St. John’s and Newfoundland and Labrador.

Contractors may be working on the following streets from November 20 to 25 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs.
