City to Celebrate Grand Opening of H.G.R. Mews Community Centre

Waste Collection Cancelled - December 3

Due to forecasted weather conditions, curbside waste collection is cancelled for Wednesday, December 3.

Collection will now take place on Thursday, December 4, in addition to the regular Thursday collection.

The City of St. John’s advises that several online applications may experience intermittent outages today (December 2, 2025) between noon and 12:30 p.m. due to scheduled system maintenance.

During this brief period, some users may be unable to access certain pages or tools. Impacted applications may include:

Speed cushion trial on your street? Tell us what you think!

Surveys have now been distributed to households on streets that participated in the 2025 temporary speed cushion trial.

In line with the City’s Traffic Calming Policy, temporary speed cushions were installed from summer to late fall 2025 on:

• Gleneyre Street
• Empire Avenue (between Circular Road and Rennies Mill Road)
• Smithville Crescent
