City of St. John's Celebrates Earth Day April 22

Earth Day has been celebrated on April 22 since 1970.

The 2026 Earth Day Canada theme is Conscious Consumption.  Mindful consumption encourages us to be more intentional in what we buy and use, choosing quality, durability, and value over quantity. It is about reducing our environmental impact while supporting well made products and enhancing overall well being, without suggesting we have to go without.

Visitor Information Centre Opening for the Season on May 5

The Visitor Information Centre, located at 348 Water Street, opens for the season on Tuesday, May 5.

Friendly, knowledgeable staff will be available to provide tourist information and help plan your visit – in person, by email, or by phone.

Hours of Operation:

• May 5 to June 22: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• June 23 to September 27: Seven days a week, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
• September 28 to October 9: Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. – 4:30 p.m.
