Take notice that the St. John’s Municipal Council has enacted the St. John’s Commercial Property Tax and Vacancy Relief By-Law.

The said By-Law was passed by Council on the 3rd day of June, A.D., 2025, to repeal and replace the St. John’s Commercial Property Tax By-Law enacted by Council on October 29, 2012.

Fire Ban Extended To Thursday, June 5

Please be advised that the fire ban effect for the St. John’s Regional Fire Department Region including St. John’s, Mount Pearl, and Paradise has been extended to Thursday, June 5 due to current and anticipated dry weather conditions. The ban will be re-evaluated leading into the weekend.

Cruise Ship Silver Dawn arrives June 4

The Silver Dawn with 660 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 8 a.m. on Wednesday, May 29, and depart at 6 p.m.

Lane Reductions - Kenmount Road (Near Thorburn Road Intersection)

Motorists are advised that temporary lane reductions are in place on Kenmount Road near the Thorburn Road intersection due to road rehabilitation work. The lane reductions will be in place until Wednesday, June 4.

Motorists should expect delays and seek an alternate route where possible. Pedestrian access will be maintained.
