Party in the Park Rescheduled for July 17

Due to the forecasted high temperatures and humidex this week, the annual Party in the Park will be cancelled for Wednesday, July 16. The event will now take place indoors on Thursday, July 17 at the Mazol Shriners at 530 Topsail Road from 1 to 4 p.m.

The City apologizes for any inconvenience.

Traffic Advisory – Macdonald Drive (between Toronto Street and Quebec Street)

7:00 a.m. Wednesday, July 16 to 6:00 p.m. Friday, August 8

A temporary lane reduction and sidewalk closure will be in place on Macdonald Drive to accommodate work on the Portugal Cove Road to Logy Bay Road Shared-Use Path project.

Traffic delays can be expected – please consider alternate routes. Signage and flag persons will be on site to guide traffic. Alternate pedestrian routes will be provided. To learn more about the project, visit EngageStJohns.ca.

Construction for Crosstown Shared-Use Path Project to Begin

The City of St. John’s is making progress on the development of the Crosstown Shared-Use Path (SUP). Work will begin on eastern section of the route, from Portugal Cove Road to Logy Bay Road, on July 16.

Construction will start near Macdonald Drive Elementary, with concurrent work also taking place in the Kenny’s Pond area near Portugal Cove Road. From there, construction will move eastward from Toronto Street to Logy Bay Road. This work will continue through December 2025, with final surface...
