The City of St. John’s/St. John’s Regional Fire Department and the International Association of Firefighters Local 1075 are pleased to announce that they have reached a new collective agreement, marking the successful conclusion of negotiations between both parties.

The City of St. John's will be conducting roadside pruning operations beginning December 2 and continuing until May 31, 2025 in the following areas:
Pruning operations will be performed following arboricultural best practices. The purpose is to prune branches that create sightline issues or interfere with pedestrian or vehicular traffic. Motorists may experience traffic delays when work is being completed.

Update: Registration for the Radon Testing Kits is now full, including the waitlist. Those registered on the waitlist will be contacted if a kit becomes available.
The City of St. John’s is taking part in Health Canada’s Take Action on Radon Program. Radon is a naturally occurring gas that enters homes through contact with the ground. When radon builds up to elevated levels, exposure can increase the risk of developing lung cancer. The only way to determine radon levels is through testing.
