The following appeal under the City of St. John’s Development Regulations will be heard by the Local Board of Appeal on Wednesday, January 21, 2026.
Decision of City re: Approval of Building Permit – 38 Spencer Street
Any persons whose properties are affected by the above-noted appeal has the right to be heard and to give evidence thereon.

The City of St. John’s advises that lane and leisure swims scheduled for 7 a.m. on Monday, January 5, 2026, at the Paul Reynolds Community Centre and H.G.R. Mews Community Centre are cancelled due to expected weather conditions.
An update will be provided at 7 a.m. on January 5 regarding any additional closures or service interruptions affecting community centres and City Hall.

On-street overnight parking bans are in effect starting Saturday, January 3 and ending at 7:30 a.m. on Saturday April 11, 2026.

The City is considering a text amendment to the Envision St. John’s Development Regulations to update public consultation requirements and meet new requirements of the Urban and Rural Planning Act. A Municipal Plan amendment is not required. The City is considering removing the requirement to advertise in a newspaper and adding requirements for on-site notices for the following planning applications:
