Reminder: Provincial Fire Ban In Place

The St. John’s Regional Fire Department would like to remind residents and visitors that there is currently a Provincial Fire Ban in place, which means:

• No open fires permitted, including those with a permit
• No outdoor wood-burning appliances permitted
• Only propane appliances and charcoal/propane BBQs are allowed

Since Friday July 18, SJRFD has responded to 14 brush fires, six of which were illegal backyard/camp fires. This is unacceptable and deeply concerning given the current province-wide fire...
