Due to forecasted high winds, curbside waste collection is cancelled for Friday, January 16, 2026. Collection will take place on Saturday, January 17.
Do not put waste carts or bags at the curb until Saturday morning.

Please be advised that the Winter Activity Centre located at North Bank Lodge in Pippy Park is closed until further notice due to lack of snow and unsafe trail conditions. Operations are dependent on weather and snow conditions. An update will be provided on the City of St. John’s website and social media when the trails are open and safe for use. The City of St. John’s apologizes for any inconvenience.

The Winter Activity Centre in the North Bank Lodge at Pippy Park is scheduled to open today (Saturday, January 10). For up-to-date schedules and hours of operation call the Winter Activity Centre Snowline at 709-737-3651.
Pippy Park is transformed into an area suitable for snowshoeing, cross-country skiing and skate skiing. Trails are free to use and may be lit for evening use. Trail maps can be viewed on our Winter Activity Centre webpage and at North Bank Lodge.
