Water Advisory: Cloudy Water Due to Air in Water System

The City has received reports of cloudy water from residents living in areas of the west end of St. John’s. Please be advised that the cloudiness is a result of air mixing with the water system at Bay Bulls Big Pond. The water is safe to drink and the air will dissipate within the next couple of days.

Closure Jan. 24: Animal Care and Adoption Centre

Please be advised that the Animal Care and Adoption Centre located at 81 Higgins Line will be closed to the public on Friday, January 24. The City apologizes for any inconvenience.

Road Closure - Springdale Street (Water Street and George Street West)

Motorists are advised that Springdale Street, between Water Street and George Street West, will be closed from Monday, January 27 to Friday, January 31, from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to facilitate the ongoing construction of the JAG Hotel. A traffic detour will be in place.

ChillFest 2025: February 13 to 18

ChillFest, the City of St. John’s annual winter festival, is back from February 13 to 18! This free, community-wide celebration offers activities for all ages and abilities.

2025 Capital Budget Approved

City Council voted to approve the capital budget for 2025, totaling $26,860,056, at the January 21, 2025 Committee of the Whole meeting.
