The City has received an application to rezone a portion of land at 425 Blackmarsh Road (between 418 Blackmarsh Road and 70 Welland Street) from Apartment 2 (A2) Zone to the Residential 2 (R2) Zone to create one new lot for a Single Detached Dwelling.  A Municipal Plan amendment is not required.

Permanent Speed Cushions Coming to Select Streets

The City of St. John’s has announced additional traffic calming measures that will be implemented on City streets.

Streets that have already trialed temporary traffic calming, and will see permanent installation of speed cushions in 2025 include:

St. George’s Day Holiday City Schedule - April 21, 2025

Due to the St. George’s Day holiday on Monday, April 21, City offices will be closed with the exception of the following:

• All recreation facilities will be open.
• Garbage and recycling collection will go ahead as scheduled.
• As Monday is not a Shops Closing holiday, all City paid parking by-laws are still in effect.
