Cruise Ship Aurora arrives September 8

The Aurora with 1950 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 8 a.m. on Monday, September 8, and depart at 6 p.m.

Candidates Announced for 2025 Municipal Election

On October 2, residents of the City of St. John's will elect a new City Council.

The nomination period for candidates has now closed and the deadline to withdraw has passed. Ward 1 Councillor Jill Bruce and Ward 3 Councillor Greg Noseworthy have won their respective seats by acclamation.

New Communication Boards for Playgrounds

The City of St. John’s is helping make playgrounds even more welcoming, inclusive, and fun with the installation of new playground communication boards across the city.

A total of 30 boards have been developed as part of this initiative:

• 24 boards have been installed in City-owned playgrounds, with Bowring Park to follow.
• 5 boards are being donated to community organizations that supported funding, design, or serve children who will benefit directly, including the Autism Society, Ronald McDonald...

Traffic Advisory - Uniformed Services Run and Cruise Ships

Date: Sunday, September 7, 2025
Time: 6 a.m. to 1 p.m.

To facilitate the Uniformed Services Run and the arrival of two cruise ships, the following road closures and parking restrictions will be in effect on Sunday, September 7, 2025, impacting the Downtown Area, Quidi Vidi Lake, and the Waterford Valley.

Motorists are advised to find an alternate route, while residents may be temporarily delayed while race participants are passing.
