The City is considering a text amendment to the St. John’s Development Regulations to add Office as a Discretionary Use in the Industrial General (IG) Zone. This amendment is prompted by an application for an Office at 135 Harbour Drive.

The City has received an application to rezone land at 670 Kenmount Road from the Residential 2 (R2) Zone to the Residential Reduced Lot (RRL) Zone to allow the development of 19 single detached dwelling units on narrow lots.
The area to be rezoned is at the top of Henry Larsen Street near Leonard J. Cowley Street. The property is in the Residential District of the Envision St. John’s Municipal Plan, so a Municipal Plan amendment is not needed.

To facilitate exploratory work for the Water Street Infrastructure Project, periodic lane reductions will be in place on Friday, October 3, from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m. on Water Street between Queen Street and Prescott Street.

The City of St. John’s will continue work on the Water Street Infrastructure Project in 2025 and 2026.
