Active Preschool is a part time preschool program that focuses on socialization, early educational concepts, physical literacy with a focus on fundamentals, basic movement and skills taught through fun activities. After over 50 years of providing recreation and community programming, the current H.G.R. Mews Community Centre will officially close to the public on Thursday, August 28. To mark this milestone and celebrate its legacy, the City of St. John’s is offering several free events and activities for residents to enjoy one last time at the Mews.

Zuiderdam cruise ship originally scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, and depart at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20, has been cancelled due to weather.

The Zuiderdam with 2388 passengers is scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 2 p.m. on Tuesday, August 19, and depart at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, August 20.

The Evacuation Preparedness Alert for the Paddy’s Pond Industrial, Galway and Southlands areas has been lifted effective immediately. The alert in neighbouring communities in Paradise and CBS has also been lifted.
Please note that the southern portion of Fowler's Road will remain closed to traffic as work continues in that area. Local traffic will be permitted.
