Road Closure - Empire Ave (Jensen Camp Rd To Welland St)

Motorists are advised that due to watermain repairs Empire Ave (Jensen Camp Rd to Welland St) is closed today, Saturday, September 20, 2025, until 10:00 p.m.
Use an alternate route and expect delays. Emergency vehicles and local traffic, including those visiting family, friends, businesses in the area will have access, while all through traffic will be detoured.

Street Rehab - September 22 to 27

7:00 a.m. to 7:00 p.m.
Contractors may be working on the following streets from September 22 to 27 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:
Beaumont Street
Bennett Avenue
Canada Drive (Hamlyn Road to Cowan Avenue)
Charlton Street
Clifford Street

Motorists are advised there will be a temporary lane reduction for the west bound lane of Brookfield Road near Civic 217 and the Pearltown Road intersection. Temporary traffic signals will be in place to facilitate the lane reduction, maintaining single lane access through the work zone. To facilitate the Battle of Britain Parade and Wreath Laying Ceremony, please note the following road closures and parking restrictions on Sunday, September 21 from 8 a.m. to 1:45 p.m.
Road Closures
The following roads will be closed during the times noted below on Sunday, September 21.
10:30 a.m. to 11 a.m.
- Harvey Road (next to the C.L.B. Armory) – rolling closure
- Long’s Hill – rolling closure
- Queen’s Road (Long’s Hill to Cathedral Street) – rolling closure

Motorists are advised that Quidi Vidi Road (from Forest Road to Plymouth Road) will be closed to facilitate a water / sewer connection. Local access will be provided.
