Take notice that St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 74, 2026, adopted on March 10, 2026, has been registered by the Minister of Municipal and Community Affairs.
In general terms, the purpose of St. John’s Development Regulations Amendment Number 74, 2026 is to add Cidery/Winery as a discretionary use in the Agriculture (AG) Zone to enable a Cidery at 70 Powers Road, Goulds.

The City of St. John’s will be carrying out sewer infrastructure repairs from 62 to 74 Prescott Street (between Bond Street and Flavin Street) on Friday, May 22 from 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.
To allow crews and equipment to safely complete this work, residents and visitors are requested not to park vehicles on the street within the work area during this time. Signage will be in place.
If vehicles require removal, Parking Enforcement Officers will attempt to contact vehicle owners where possible.

Motorists are advised there will be a temporary lane reduction and sidewalk closure at Portugal Cove Road (fronting Holiday Inn) to facilitate work of the Crosstown Shared-Use Path project. Signage will be in place and flag persons will be on site. Slowdowns and delays will be experienced. Motorists are advised to seek alternate routes whenever possible.

The City of St. John’s advises that telephone service for Access St. John’s, including 709-754-2489 (709-754-CITY) and 311, will be temporarily unavailable on Wednesday, May 20, 2026, from approximately 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. due to scheduled system updates.

The 2026 cruise ship season officially begins in the City of St. John’s on Thursday, May 21, as the City welcomes passengers and crew aboard SH Vega to the Port of St. John’s. SH Vega of Swan Hellenic is scheduled to arrive in St. John’s Harbour at 8 a.m. with approximately 269 passengers and crew on board.
