On October 2, residents of the City of St. John's will elect a new City Council.
The nomination period for candidates has now closed and the deadline to withdraw has passed. Ward 1 Councillor Jill Bruce and Ward 3 Councillor Greg Noseworthy have won their respective seats by acclamation.
The official candidates for the remaining council seats are listed below, by position and alphabetically by surname. Contact information provided by each candidate is available on our 2025 Municipal Election webpage.

St. John’s will once again use a vote-by-mail system for the upcoming Municipal Election. Your ballot will be mailed directly to your home—but only if your voter information is up to date.
Check the voters list and confirm your details through the Voter Registration Portal.
Voter kits will start arriving in mailboxes the week of September 15.
If you are mailing your kit back, it must be postmarked no later than September 24.
You can also return your kit at drop-box locations across the city, which will be announced soon.
On Election Day, October 2, you can return your kit in person to any Election Centre or vote in person at the Election Centre in your Ward.
