Vote-by-mail kits for the October 2 Municipal Election are arriving this week. Every registered voter in St. John’s receives a kit directly in the mail, based on the permanent list of electors from Elections NL.
If you have recently moved and/or reached the voting age of 18, you may not be on the voters list. While the City makes every attempt to ensure the accuracy of the voters list, residents are asked to confirm that they are registered. To determine if your name is on the voters’ list and to register if it is not, please check the Voter Registration Portal.
The deadline to return your kit by mail is September 24.
Voters can also return their completed kits to the following secure drop-box locations throughout the city:
Please note that centres may also open during evenings and weekends for private rentals, however drop-boxes will only be available during the above hours of operations.
On Election Day, October 2, you may also drop off your kit at your ward’s voting centre or register to receive a ballot and vote in person. If registering at a voting centre, acceptable identification is required.
