As we continue to experience dry conditions this summer, the City of St. John’s reminds residents to use water wisely and follow the year-round Water Conservation Order, which applies to all outdoor water use. While additional conservation measures are not required at this time, water levels are low and it is important that residents comply with the existing order to help protect our shared water resources.
Residents can water their lawns or gardens on the following days and times:
When using a hose for lawn watering, please turn water off at the faucet on your house when finished, to avoid leaks. Hand watering with a can or shut-off nozzle is allowed at any time. Vehicles, windows and siding may be washed anytime if a shut-off nozzle is used.
Non-compliance may result in fines up to $5,000. Commercial car washes and high-pressure commercial uses are exempt from the Water Conservation Order.
