
The City of St. John’s invites residents and businesses to share their thoughts on the initial recommendations for new neighbourhood plans for the Rennie’s River, Central and Mundy Pond areas.
The neighbourhood plans aim to adapt and apply the objectives, policies, and planning approaches of the Envision St. John’s Municipal Plan to a local context. To shape these plans, the City is gathering feedback on the following:
The Central and Mundy Pond neighbourhoods are being studied together, due to their close proximity and many shared characteristics. Neighbourhood boundaries can be viewed through MapCentre.
Engagement opportunities remain open to all residents and businesses, with a particular focus on those living and working in the neighbourhoods. While virtual and in-person open houses were hosted in each neighbourhood in March, there are still several ways to share your feedback. Additionally, the project team has connected with key committees, interested parties and local community groups. Engagement opportunities include:
The revised deadline for feedback is March 22, 2026. These findings inform the development of the final neighbourhood plans.

The City of St. John’s has a strategic direction to be a Sustainable City, planning for land use while preserving and enhancing the natural and built environment for residents. The Rennie’s River, Central and Mundy Pond neighbourhood plans play a key role in advancing this direction.
