New Year's Eve Celebration

The City of St. John’s invites everyone to ring in the New Year with fun, free, family-friendly activities on Wednesday, December 31, 2025!

Gym and Swim

Bring the whole family for gym and swim fun, happening at two locations: the Paul Reynolds Community Centre and the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre! Suitable for all ages, swim in the pool or play in the gym with games, toys, crafts, and a quiet sensory zone!

Time: 9 a.m. to 10:50 a.m.
Locations: Paul Reynolds Community Centre; H.G.R. Mews Community Centre
Accessibility: This event will include a quiet sensory zone. Learn more about accessibility features at the Paul Reynolds Community Centre and the H.G.R. Mews Community Centre. The GoBus drop-off and pick-up location is in front of each main entrance. The GoBus must be booked in advance. GoBus users can book a ride using the "My GoBus" mobile app, online booking portal, by calling 709-368-8887 or texting 709-765-5847.

Skating Party at The Loop

Grab your skates and helmet to enjoy a skating party with holiday music, free hot chocolate and party favours in beautiful Bannerman Park! This event is dependent on ice conditions, so please call the Loop Line at (709) 733-LOOP (5667) to check if it’s open.

Time: 5 p.m. to 7 p.m.
Location: The Loop in Bannerman Park

Accessibility: Accessible parking and gender-neutral toilets will be available. Learn more about accessibility features at Bannerman Park. The GoBus drop-off and pick-up location is the sidewalk in front of the Bannerman Park Pool House on Bannerman Road. The GoBus must be booked in advance. GoBus users can book a ride using the "My GoBus" mobile app, online booking portal, by calling 709-368-8887 or texting 709-765-5847.

Countdown Celebration and Fireworks

Join us for an exciting countdown celebration leading up to the fireworks! This outdoor event features a live DJ and concludes with a stunning fireworks display over Quidi Vidi Lake at 8 p.m. Remember to dress warmly for the weather!

If the weather is unsuitable, the countdown celebration will be cancelled and the fireworks display will be rescheduled to 8 p.m. on January 1, 2026.

Time: 7 p.m. to 8 p.m.
Location: Carnell Drive, Quidi Vidi Lake

Accessibility: Accessible parking and accessible toilets are available at the Dominion parking lot on Lake Avenue. An accessible viewing area will be available on site for the countdown celebration. The GoBus drop-off and pick-up location is at the back of the Dominion parking lot close to Quidi Vidi Lake. The GoBus must be booked in advance. GoBus users can book a ride using the "My GoBus" mobile app, online booking portal, by calling 709-368-8887 or texting 709-765-5847.
