2025 Capital Budget Approved

City Council voted to approve the capital budget for 2025, totaling $26,860,056, at the January 21, 2025 Committee of the Whole meeting.

Capital projects cover a wide range of services including transportation improvements, street/sidewalk repair/rehabilitation, water system projects, housing projects, capital grants to community groups, snow clearing equipment, recreational facilities and playground infrastructure.

Proper Use of Off-Road Vehicles

Off-road vehicles like dirt bikes, ATVs, UTV’s and 4x4s provide fun opportunities to explore the outdoors. However, off-roading comes with responsibilities to ensure safety, protect the environment, and respect public spaces. Off-road vehicles are not permitted on City property including sports fields, as they can cause significant damage. This past weekend, the City was disheartened to find a gate was broken at the soccer field at McNiven Place and a UTV was used on the field, leaving damage.

Road Closure - Springdale Street (between Water Street & George Street West)

Motorists are advised that Springdale Street, between Water Street and George Street West, will be closed on Monday, January 20 from 7 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. to facilitate the ongoing construction of the JAG Hotel. A traffic detour will be in place.
