Space Available in a Variety of Recreation Programs

We still have space in a variety of our recreation programs. We offer a diverse range of activities for individuals to explore and engage in various hobbies. Whether it's bridge, line dancing, ballroom dance, or learning to play a new instrument, there’s something for everyone. We also have space in our preschool program.

Youth Talent Show 2024

The City of St. John’s is hosting a Youth Talent Show, an annual event to showcase talents of our young stars. If you’re between the ages of 10 and 16 years, sign up today to perform your talent in a positive and encouraging environment. Whether you're a singer, dancer, musician, magician or possess a unique skill, this is your chance to shine!

Overnight Winter Parking Bans in Effect

On-street overnight winter parking bans are in effect from January 3 until April 5, 2024.
The following bans are in effect daily regardless of weather and street conditions:
- Downtown Business District: 4 to 6 a.m. on Water Street from Waldegrave Street to Prescott Street and Duckworth Street from New Gower to Cochrane Street
- Streets outside the designated downtown area: 12:30 to 7:30 a.m.

Lane Reduction - Duckworth Street (from King's Road to Holloway Street)

7:00 a.m. Tuesday, January 2 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 28
Motorists are advised that Duckworth Street from King’s Road to Holloway Street will be reduced to one lane to facilitate the ongoing construction project adjacent to the National War Memorial. Signage will be in place and traffic lights and/or flag persons will be on site. Motorists may experience delays as a result.

Springdale Street (between Water Street and George Street West)

Road Closure - January 2 to 5 (7:00 a.m to 5:00 p.m.)
Motorists are advised that Springdale Street, from Water Street to George Street West, will be closed from Tuesday, January 2 to Friday, January 5 from 7:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. to facilitate the ongoing construction of the JAG Hotel. A traffic detour will be in place.

To facilitate the City of St. John's New Year's Eve fireworks display at 8:00 p.m. Sunday, December 31st the following streets will be closed from 6:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m. unless otherwise noted:
Carnell Drive (3:00 p.m.to 8:30 p.m.)
Lake Avenue
Clancey Drive
Lakeview Avenue
Legion Road
East White Hills Road
The Boulevard (from Legion Road to East White Hills Road (7:30 p.m. to 8:30 p.m.)
Accessible parking will be available at the Dominion parking lot.
