Job Advisory: St. John's Regional Fire Department - September 2025

The St. John’s Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) is now accepting applications for Temporary Firefighters. Applications will be accepted through the City of St. John’s Careers website.

The number of Temporary Firefighters to be hired will be determined prior to the interview process.

It is strongly recommended that potential candidates who may be interested in applying for these positions review the “2025/2026 SJRFD Firefighter Recruitment Guide” outlining the required qualifications and the actual hiring process. Special consideration should be taken when reviewing the Job-Related (Physical) Testing requirements and, local facilities that complete this testing. Please note, RNC Criminal Record Screening Certificates and Vulnerable Sector Checks may take longer to obtain then the normal timeframe. Please ensure this is taken into consideration when applying.
