The St. John's Regional Fire Department (SJRFD) is a professional emergency response organization. Our staff are dedicated to providing a high standard of service to the community we protect.
Being a firefighter is both challenging and rewarding. The job is physically demanding but also very rewarding. It involves years of continuous education and training but protecting the lives and property of our residents creates a feeling of great satisfaction.
Recruitment usually takes place every two to three years. The City announces upcoming competition dates through the media.
Applications for Temporary Firefighter positions are only accepted once the job competition is posted. It is anticipated for the job competition to be posted on or near November 14, 2022. Further instructions to apply online will be provided at that time. Completion of the Temporary Firefighter Application Form will be required.
