The City of St. John’s is pleased to share its latest schedule for the Trail Explorers Program, designed for all members of our community. This initiative provides a wonderful opportunity to explore the beautiful trails throughout the city, promoting health, wellness, and community connection.
The program is offered year-round, featuring a different trail, time, and meeting location each week. Trails are rated on a 1 to 5 scale, with 1 being the easiest and 5 being the hardest. The schedule for January to April is now available.
The trails are wheelchair accessible and designed to accommodate people of all abilities, providing a safe and enjoyable experience for everyone. However, trail accessibility and difficulty may be impacted by winter conditions. Adaptive equipment may be borrowed from the City’s Adaptive Equipment Lending Program for those requiring this to participate (subject to availability). Please contact inclusion@stjohns.ca to request adaptive equipment.
Trail Explorers is a great way to stay active and improve overall well-being. The program encourages physical activity, which is beneficial for both physical and mental health. Whether you're new to St. John’s or a long-time resident, this program offers a friendly and welcoming environment to connect with others. It is a fantastic way to meet new people and strengthen community ties.
All participants are required to complete a waiver before taking part in Trail Explorer activities. Submission of the form will cover all Trail Explorer sessions for the year. This program is free, and registration is not required. Each week participants are asked to meet at the designated meeting location to begin the guided trail program.
Join us for a wellness break, meet new people, breathe in the fresh air and experience the therapeutic effects of nature.
