Ring in the holiday season with our 22nd annual celebration of music and lights at Bowring Park Duck Pond on Saturday, December 2 at 5 p.m. The event will feature local entertainment as we officially light up the duck pond. More details will be provided closer to the event, visit StJohns.ca/HolidayLights for updates.
Please bring a non-perishable food item for the Community Food Sharing Association, and a reusable mug for free hot chocolate provided by the St. John’s Lions Club.

Saturday, November 18 - 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.
Motorists are advised that the traffic lights at the Allandale Road/Bonaventure Avenue/Elizabeth Avenue intersection will be shut down starting at 7 a.m. on Saturday, November 18 to facilitate paving in the area. Flag persons will be on site directing traffic. Motorists should anticipate delays and use alternate routes where possible. Power will be restored by 5 p.m.

Each year, Council ratifies the City of St. John's' annual budget and sets the mill rates in December for the upcoming year. The budget outlines the City's projected revenues and expenditures for the fiscal year.
Feedback to inform the budget is collected continuously throughout the year by Council from constituents. This feedback is reviewed and reflected upon by Council when making budget decisions.

The City is considering a text amendment to the St. John’s Development Regulations, that would amend the Daycare Centre regulations to bring them more in line with the requirements and terminology used by the Province, allow Family Child Care Services (a daycare within a home) as a Permitted Use within various residential zones, and allow Daycare Centre as a Permitted Use in various commercial and institutional zones.
