The City of St. John’s has a book of condolence in remembrance of Queen Elizabeth II.
The book was signed by the Mayor and members of Council on Monday, September 12 and will be placed in the Great Hall on the second floor of City Hall. Individuals interested in signing the book can visit from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. from Monday to Friday. The book will be in place until September 20, 2022.
The book of condolence will be stored in the City Archives in perpetuity.

Both parks were closed previously due to washouts and unsafe trail conditions due to excessive flooding.

The Rennies Mill Trail from King's Bridge Road to Long Pond is closed due to flooding:
The trail will reopen when water recedes and the trail has been inspected for damage.

Contractors may be working on the following streets from August 29 to September 2 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Commuters may experience traffic delays in these areas:

Starting Monday, Sept. 12, and continuing until November 30, the City will be conducting routine hydrant testing and flushing. This work is required to collect flow and pressure data to improve the City’s water distribution network.

Older adults and seniors are invited to recognize Seniors’ Week from October 3 to 7 – the theme for 2022 is ‘Seniors Reconnecting’.

Due to circumstances beyond our control, the Robin Hood Bay Residential Drop Off (RDO) will be closed on Thursday, September 8th.
The Robin Hood Bay landfill, material recovery facility and the metal recycler will remain open to commercial and municipal users.
The City of St John’s apologizes for any inconvenience this may cause.
