The City has installed a new traffic signal at the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue and Newtown Road, near the MUN Administration Building. This signal is part of our ongoing efforts to improve road safety and manage traffic flow more effectively.

Royal Caribbean's Serenade of the Seas Cruise Ship, originally scheduled to arrive in St. John's on Saturday, August 31, has changed their arrival date to Thursday, August 29.
Serenade of the Seas with 2500 passengers is now scheduled to arrive in the Port of St. John’s at 8 a.m. on Thursday, August 29, and depart at 5 p.m.

The deadline to apply for a vacancy that exists on the Building Safer Communities Steering Committee has been extended to Sunday, September 1, 2024.
The Office of the City Clerk is seeking a member to fill one (1) vacancy on the Building Safer Communities Steering Committee.
The Steering Committee aims to include a wide range of diverse perspectives and expertise, as outlined on page 4 of the Terms of Reference. Individuals who bring one or more of these perspectives are encouraged to apply.

Due to water main replacement work, Blackmarsh Road, between Pearce Avenue and Cashin Avenue, will be closed to westbound traffic starting on August 27 at 7am until November 1 at 7pm. A detour will be in place.

Please be advised that the Paul Reynolds Community Centre Swimming Pool will be closed for scheduled maintenance from Sunday, August 25 to Saturday, September 14 inclusive. The rest of the Community Centre will remain open during this time. The pool will reopen following its regular schedule on Sunday, September 15.
