A Discretionary Use Application has been submitted by Newfoundland Power Inc. to replace the existing transmission line (Public Utility) in the area of the Southern Shore Highway.

Technical Difficulties with RecConnect

The City of St. John’s is experiencing some technical difficulties with the RecConnect software used for recreation program registration. We are investigating the issue, which appears to be impacting municipalities across the country. Once this issue is resolved, we will provide an update.

The deadline to apply for a vacancy that exists on the Built Heritage Experts Panel has been extended to May 12, 2024.
The Built Heritage Experts Panel provides expertise, opinion, and perspective about built heritage, its protection and designation in the City of St. John’s.

The City of St. John's is providing free space on the Downtown Pedestrian Mall this year for organizations to get creative and engage with the community. We would love to hear your ideas.

Lane Reduction - Water Street

Motorists are advised that Water Street (in the vicinity of the National War Memorial) will be reduced to one lane to facilitate the ongoing construction adjacent to the National War Memorial. Signage and traffic lights will be in place. Motorists may experience delays and are encouraged to use an alternate route, if possible.
Pedestrian access will be maintained at all times.

Year of the Arts Mural

The City of St. John’s seeks an Artist or Artist Team to design and complete a mural celebrating the art and artists of Newfoundland and Labrador, in recognition of the provincial Year of the Arts.
