Canada Day Fireworks Cancelled Due to Current Fire Index Conditions

Please be advised that the City of St. John’s fireworks planned for 10 p.m. on July 1 are cancelled due to current Provincial fire index rating for our Region. The use of personal/backyard fireworks is also strictly prohibited.
The concert featuring Celtic Connection at the bandstand at Quidi Vidi Lake will still go ahead at 8 p.m., weather permitting. Residents can subscribe to receive updates by email related to cancellations at StJohns.ca/Subscribe or check the City’s Facebook page.

The City of St. John's has forwarded all residential tax bills covering July to December 2025 to Canada Post for delivery. Residents should receive their bill within the coming weeks.

Contractors may be working on the following streets from June 30 to July 5 under the City’s annual streets rehabilitation and infrastructure maintenance programs. Work could include concrete/street excavation, concrete work, paving, heater scarifying, utility adjustment, ditch cleaning and culvert installation. Canada Day and Memorial Day Holiday City Schedule - Tuesday, July 1, 2025

Due to the Canada Day and Memorial Day holiday, all recreation facilities, community centres and the Robin Hood Bay Waste Management Facility will be closed on Tuesday, July 1.
Please note the following:
- Curbside waste will not be collected on Tuesday; it will be collected on Wednesday along with Wednesday’s regular collection.
- All City parking by-laws are still in effect; however paid parking regulations will not be enforced as Tuesday is a Shops Closing holiday.
