The City of St. John’s proudly celebrates National AccessAbility Week (NAAW) this year from May 31 to June 6, 2026.
On Tuesday, June 2, Mayor Breen will proclaim AccessAbility Week in the City of St. John’s, and on Wednesday, June 3, city hall will be lit in red to symbolize strength, resilience and ongoing advocacy.
At the City of St. John’s, we are committed to building an accessible, inclusive, healthy and safe community for all.
Throughout National AccessAbility Week, we will share information and create awareness about the importance of accessibility and inclusion through our social media.
Red Shirt Day – June 3
We invite residents to take part in Red Shirt Day of Action for AccessAbility and Inclusion on Wednesday, June 3. This national initiative by Easter Seals encourages Canadians to wear red in support of removing physical, social, and systemic barriers. In recognition of this important day, City Hall will be lit in red.
