Applications Open for Traffic Box Art Program 2026
The City of St. John’s is now accepting applications for the 2026 Traffic Box Art Program.
This initiative engages visual artists to design and paint original artwork on traffic signal boxes—metal cabinets located at intersections and roadsides that house traffic signal controls. By transforming these functional structures into works of art, the program enhances the character of neighbourhoods, beautifies public spaces, and helps deter vandalism.
Each selected artist will receive an honorarium of $500.
Previously administered by Clean St. John’s, the Traffic Box Art Program is now facilitated by the City of St. John’s.
The deadline to apply is Friday, June 19.
