Ballot Status Look-Up Now Available
The Election has been moved from October 2 to October 8 to provide additional time to secure additional resources for in-person voting and launch an online portal for residents to check if the City received their mailed-in ballots.
The online status ballot look-up is now live.
If your ballot has not been received or you have not yet cast your vote, please review the information below to learn about how you can have your say in the 2025 Municipal Election.
Vote on Election Day
Eligible voters can cast or drop off their ballots at a voting centre on election day (October 8) from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m. If you plan to register and/or vote in-person on Election Day, you must go to the centre in your own ward and bring acceptable identification.
Voting Centre locations are as follows – please note a change to the Ward 2 Voting Centre:
- Ward 1 – Paul Reynolds Community Centre – 35 Carrick Drive
- Ward 2 – Centre for Performance and Creativity (Former Cochrane United Church) - 42 Bannerman Street (Please note this location has changed since this article was published. Voting Centres are now located at First Light Centre for Performance and Creativity, 42 Bannerman Street and Bannerman Park Pool House, 25 Bannerman Road)
- Ward 3 – H.G.R. Mews Community Centre – 60 Blackler Avenue
- Ward 4 – Kenmount Terrace Community Centre – 85 Messenger Drive
- Ward 5 – Shea Heights Community Centre – 130 Linegar Avenue
- Ward 5 – Goulds Recreation Centre – 509 Main Road
Request a Voting Kit
If you checked the online Ballot Status Look-Up and found the City did not receive your ballot, you can request a new one in advance of election day.
If you did not receive a vote-by-mail kit, you may not be registered to vote. Please note that online voter registration is still closed, however you can register in-person and vote on election day or follow the directions below.
Residents who need to register or request a replacement ballot can:
- Visit the Access Centre at City Hall, 10 New Gower Street (Monday to Friday, 8 a.m. to 4 p.m.)
- Call 311 or 709-754-CITY (2489)
Registration and replacement requests will be accepted up to and including October 7. Acceptable identification will be required.
You will need to pick up your kit once it is ready at City Hall.
Return a Completed Kit Prior to Election
You can return your completed vote-by-mail kit to any of the secure drop boxes up to and including Election Day, October 8.
The secure drop box outside City Hall (10 New Gower Street) is available 24/7 until 8 p.m. on October 8.
You can also bring your kit to drop boxes inside the following recreation facilities during regular operating hours or until 8 p.m. on Election Day:
- Paul Reynolds Community Centre, 35 Carrick Drive - 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily
- H.G.R. Mews Community Centre, 60 Blackler Avenue - 7 a.m. to 9 p.m. daily
- Kenmount Terrace Community Centre, 85 Messenger Drive - Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
- Shea Heights Community Centre, 130 Linegar Avenue - Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.
- Goulds Recreation Centre, 509 Main Road – Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 8 p.m.
- Southlands Community Centre, 40 Teakwood Drive - Monday to Friday, 9 a.m. to 5:30 p.m.
Please note that Southlands Community Centre was previously unavailable for drop-off on election day, however the City is pleased to now offer that as an additional option to residents on October 8.
