BlindSquare Wayfinding Technology Orientation for iPhone and Android
Due to low registration, this orientation has been cancelled. Anyone interested in learning more about the BlindSquare app can set up an individual or group orientation by contacting CNIB staff at 709-730-5346 or deon.slaney@cnib.ca.
The City of St. John’s in partnership with CNIB will host orientations for BlindSquare accessible wayfinding and navigation apps on Monday, July 31, 2023. Sessions will take place at St. John’s City Hall, 10 New Gower Street in the Foran Greene Room on the fourth floor at the following times:
- XploreNinja for Android is 11:30 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.
- BlindSq Event for iPhone is 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m.
Participants will learn how to install, adjust and use the app on their applicable device. They will also learn how the app helps people with vision loss, blindness or anyone who benefits from wayfinding assistance, to safely navigate the Downtown Pedestrian Mall.
Accessible drop off is available at the main entrance of City Hall. Additional parking arrangements can also be made upon registration.
Those interested in attending can register by emailing inclusion@stjohns.ca or by calling 709-576-4450. The deadline for registration is Thursday, July 27 at noon. Space is limited. When registering, please indicate if any accommodations are required to participate.
