Starting on Tuesday, April 18 at 10 a.m. residents of St. John's can book a free curbside collection appointment for bulk waste.

Bulk garbage and metal collection will occur by waste area. For example, if your regular collection day is Monday, that is area 1 and once an appointment is made your pickup will be between May 8 and 12. See the complete schedule below.

To book an appointment beginning 10 a.m. April 18 you can:

• Go to curbitstjohns.ca/schedules and choose the bulk tab
• Use the ‘St. John’s Waste and Recycling’ app
• Call Access St. John’s at 311 or 754-CITY (2489)

Once booked, please set a reminder on your calendar, and place the items at the curb by 8 a.m. on your assigned collection date, and not before 3 p.m. the day before.

Before you book, please be sure what you have is bulk waste:

• Maximum size of 1.5 m x 1.5 m x 2.15 m (5 ft x 5 ft x 7 ft)
• Weighs less than 68 kgs (150 lbs)
• Does not fit inside the garbage carts for automated collection
