Call for Members - Anti-Racism Working Group

The Office of the City Clerk is seeking expressions of interest to fill five vacancies on the Anti-Racism Working Group in the following two categories:

1. Staff or volunteer board members with decision making authority representing organizations that have expertise in racism and fostering anti-racism in one or more of the following areas:

• BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, People of Colour)

• Women

• Youth

• Newcomers

• 2SLGBTQIA+

• Ethnicity/Religion

• Academia/Research

• Employment

• Arts and culture

And / or

2. Residents with relevant lived experience and connections to diverse communities.

The Anti-Racism Working Group (ARWG) is primarily responsible for developing and implementing a work plan that fosters anti-racism while promoting diversity and inclusion in the City of St. John’s and providing solution-based recommendations to Council and City Staff.

Working group member roles, responsibilities, and length of term are set according to the Committee’s Terms of Reference.
