City of St. John’s Celebrates Strong 2025 Cruise Season

The City of St. John’s is pleased to announce the successful completion of the 2025 cruise season, marking another year of growth and economic benefit for the region. This year, St. John’s welcomed 38 cruise ships, bringing 27,829 passengers and 15,270 crew members to the capital city.

The steady flow of visitors between April and October contributed significantly to local businesses, tourism operators, and the broader economy, reinforcing the city’s position as a premier cruise destination in Atlantic Canada.

“The 2025 season has been a tremendous success for St. John’s,” said Councillor Jill Bruce. “The continued growth of cruise tourism supports our local economy, showcases our vibrant culture, and strengthens our reputation on the international stage.”

Looking Ahead to 2026

The 2026 cruise season is already shaping up to be another strong year, with:

  • 37 ships scheduled to visit
  • An anticipated 27,000–30,000 passengers
  • 7 inaugural calls, highlighting growing interest from new cruise lines
  • First arrival: SH Vega on May 21, 2026
  • Final ship of the season: Ocean Victory on October 11, 2026

The City of St. John’s and the St. John’s Port Authority are excited to welcome visitors from around the world in 2026 and look forward to continuing to build on the success of the city’s cruise tourism industry.
