City of St. John's Asking Residents to Conserve Water
The City of St. John’s is asking all residents, as well as anyone who lives or works in a building connected to the City’s water system, to voluntarily reduce their water use. Due to an extended period of low precipitation, water levels in our drinking water supply areas remain low and have not yet started to recover.
By using less water and making conservation a part of our daily routine, we can help reduce the strain on our water sources.
Voluntary water conservation measures include:
- Taking shorter showers
- Turning off the tap while brushing your teeth, shaving, or washing your face
- Running dishwashers and washing machines only when they are full
- Fixing any leaking taps or toilets

Let’s work together to use water wisely and protect our shared resources.
