Education Session: Business Basics: Starting a Business in St. John’s
On November 18 at 6 p.m., the City will participate in Business Basics: Starting a Business in St. John’s — a free virtual info session hosted by the Ukrainian National Federation (UNF) – Avalon branch as part of their new Entrepreneurship 101 program.
During the session, the City's Business Growth team will present an overview of how to start a business in St. John’s, including:
- Accessing local data and statistics to support business planning
- Navigating municipal permits and inspections
- City services available to support entrepreneurs
Participants will also hear from Futurpreneur Canada, a national organization offering financing, mentoring, and resources for aspiring business owners aged 18–39, including programs tailored to newcomers and Indigenous youth.
The City of St. John’s thanks the UNF-Avalon branch for their collaboration and for helping build an inclusive and supportive startup ecosystem in Newfoundland and Labrador. Together, we’re empowering entrepreneurs to turn great ideas into thriving local businesses.
