Construction Update for Airport Heights to Paul Reynolds Community Centre Shared-Use Path

Construction is ongoing on a new 2.6 km shared-use path connecting Airport Heights to the Paul Reynolds Community Centre, with completion anticipated by fall 2026.

Beginning April 16, 2026, the Virginia River Trail from Major’s Path to the Trans-Canada Highway will be closed to pedestrians. Work is also underway in the Penney Crescent area, including Spruce Meadows Park, and will be starting on the remainder of the planned trail network in the coming weeks.

As construction continues, residents may experience traffic delays, lane reductions, and sidewalk closures within the work zone, along with temporary closures of sections of the existing trail system and nearby parks.
